About the course

In this course, participants will be provided an overview of the evaluation and treatment process within both medical and school settings as a practicing SLP. Similarities and differences will be highlighted with the intention to help anyone wanting to transition between the two types of settings.

Alexia Verdi

Alexia Verdi, MA CCC-SLP, has been a practicing Speech Language Pathologist for nine years. Her primary focus has been on brain injury recovery, which is why she also decided to become a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. Originally from Los Angeles, she has worked in inpatient rehab settings and decided to continue that path after moving to San Antonio 3 years ago. However, she wanted to shift her focus from solely working in the medical setting to also working in the school system, which is why she joined AIM in 2024. Alexia is passionate about fitness and also teaches Pilates. She enjoys spending time with her husband, 8 month old daughter, and two dogs. She also enjoys reading, exercising, and watching (and trying to solve) true crime.
